Annual Charity Hockey Benefit
Canton Fire Local 1580 Annual Charity Hockey benefit is scheduled for 3/8. It starts at 7 and will have 2 games. 1st game will be randolph Fire/Pd vs Stoughton Fire/Pd. Charity Hockey Benefit raises $4700
Last weekend's Charity Hockey benefit was a great success and had a great turnout. Randolp Fire/PD beat Stoughton Fire/PD 6-1 and Boston PD beat Canton PD 4-3. This year we are donating all of the proceeds to the family of former Canton Police Officer Ralph Centeno, who recently passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Read More...

McFarland elected Mayor of Murfreesboro Shane McFarland will trade his seat on the City Council for the mayor’s post after rolling to victory in Tuesday’s election. McFarland captured 5,315 votes, 68 percent, to City Councilman Ron Washington’s 2,474, 31.7 percent, in the mayoral race with 31 of 31 precincts counted and early voting totals in.

MURFREESBORO — Kim Lawson, a veteran of Nashville Fire Department, has been named Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department’s new assistant chief of medical services, according to a news release. Lawson, who recently retired from the Nashville Fire Department after 34 years, will join the Murfreesboro department May 5.

Newly appointed Captain's Jeff Nawfel and James Moore participated in the departments first pinning and swearing-in ceremony last night at Town Hall. Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, Karl Ekstedt, pinned the two with their Captain's badges. Family members were present to pin on the Captain's lapel pins. They were then sworn in by the Town to uphold the duties of a Captain.

4 Shift was called out to 218 Washington St on 8:15am April 13th for a reported structure fire. Battalion 1 had heavy smoke in a 2 1/2 frame 100 year old Queen Anne style building, upon arrival. Two handlines were initially deployed, with the truck going to the roof.  Mohegan Tribal FD stretched a third line and the fire quickly went to three alarms.
